Equipment

For the filming we will need a lot of equipment therefore we need to plan when we need certain equipment, we will record each use of the equipment below.

We have decided as a group to experiment with roles with the production of our short film, so each member of the group will get to have a go at each role and If one of us prefer to do one role, then it will be discussed to fit each other into set roles to make the film look better.

These are the preliminary roles.

James Sture is the main protagonist; we will film at his house so it is a lot easier to get costume (the protagonist wears a suit). James is the third cameraman.

Ellen Wilkinson as casting, she will be holding casting sessions and will be directing the short film. Ellen is the second cameraman.

Brett Harrison as lighting, sound and the main cameraman, he will be in control of the set and lighting and any other work, which may need doing.

When it comes to editing we will work mainly as a team but James Sture will be editing quite a lot, as he knows how to use Imovie very well. He will consult the other members of the production to find out their ideas on the movie and help him with the editing.

Updating the portfolio

As the deadline for the portfolio is friday we have decided to update all the notes that we have at the moment, this includes adding a hyperlink to each of the pieces of work, editing the feedback that we have received from Vicky and making sure that all the fonts and graphology is the same throughout the file.

Soundtrack

Soundtrack

For the soundtrack we had to think of some suitable music, we don’t want anything that is too upbeat and we also decided not to have any lyrics as it would disrupt the whole film.
To get past this we decided to either find something without lyrics or use Garage band on the MAC where we could create a good soundtrack ourselves.

So far we have created 2 music samples, however due to the circumstances we will decide on the final soundtrack after we have finished all of our filming.

filming: Take Two

We finally managed to arrange a time which was convenaint for all three of us.
So yesterday we went and filmed the majority of the scenes:

We covered:
The Neighbour Scene
The Morning, leaving the house scene
and The Girl at the bus stop

we were really pleased with our progress and got most of it done, we only need another day filming and then it should be finished.

so far so good

we'll get some of the filming we've done on here soon.

yesterdays filming

with our filming yesterday we couldnt get hold of a tripod therefore the footage isnt the best we could of done but we are linking all the clips together to make a 'very' short film.

we are going to refilm with a tripod and with the use of another person to help us film we hope to get some excellent footage.

Today we are filming our first scene at james's house with the opening sequence for all the three days of the film.


we will include our shooting schdule soon once its finished. also we will try to get some clips on here tomorow.

james has even started to create a soundtrack using garageband.

Filming Dummy Run

Myself and Brett did some filming on sunday, we used an old school camera as we couldn't get hold of a new camera. We went through a lot of the scene's that we needed to film and got an idea of what it was going to be like for the final filming session. We got 5 minutes of footage but with quick cuts we can cut down the size of the shots considerably.


After filming we have decided to use James Sture as the protaganist due to complications with props and other arrangements, but brett is now playing the hobo.


We will continue to film with a more up to date camera this week.
